When I thought about intimacy, I thought about moments someone allows other to see and engage with. I really wanted to work with domestic intimacy rather than any other kind. I felt like allowing yourself to be seen comfortably in your home in one of the first things I do when feel like I’ve become close to someone. I don’t dress up and I allow them to come to my house because I trust them. I thought about how to spin that domestic intimacy and realized I needed to use the view camera for this project. The absurdity of using a view camera to capture voyuristic moments of domestic intimacy. We had been training to use the cameras and I would take an hour to figure out my shot and be ready. The thought of voyeurism with a view camera was too absurd to not follow through with.
